He is President of the West African College of Surgeons and Immediate Past President of the African Forum for Research and Education in Health (AFREhealth). He is the Founder and President of the Ghana Cleft Foundation and was the first President of the Pan African Association for Cleft Lip and Palate.
His past leadership roles at KNUST include Pro Vice-Chancellor; Provost of the College of Health Sciences; Founding Director, Office of Grants and Research; Vice-Dean, SMS; Head, Department of Surgery. He has served on numerous national and international committees/advisory boards of commercial enterprises, NGOs, academic institutions and professional associations.
He attended Prempeh College; the University of Sydney, Australia; and the University of London, UK. His research interests include cleft lip and palate, injury prevention, global surgery and medical education. He is widely published.
